Dr Bruce Cottee

Dr Cottee established the clinic in 2011. He was a busy General Practitioner for twenty seven years prior to this. He is a very experienced dermoscopist and has performed thousands of skin cancer removals. He has been involved in teaching of skin cancer management to junior doctors and medical students.
He is an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) and is an affiliated provider for Southern Cross.

Dr Cottee has recently retired but locums for us from time to time.

Dr Christian Wieser joined Skin Cancer Doctors in January 2018. He is a vocationally registered General Practitioner with a special interest in skin cancer medicine.  He gained his medical degree from the University of Auckland and has been based in Whangarei since 2013. He has performed over 2000 skin cancer excisions. He is an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) and an affiliated provider for Southern Cross.

Dr Wieser consults Monday to Thursday.

Dr. Celia Keane joined Skin Cancer Doctors in November 2019. She completed her medical degree at the University of Otago in 2009. Before joining the team she was working as a surgical registrar throughout New Zealand which included two years at Whangarei Hospital. She has performed over 500 skin cancer excisions. She is an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA).

Dr Keane is currently on maternity leave.


Our Nurse

Maureen is our experienced registered nurse who among many things assists the doctors with surgery as well as guide patients on how to care for their wounds after skin surgery.

Our Administrators

Louise and Jo-Ellen are our fantastic receptionists and administrators and you will meet them at the front desk or over the phone when you call.
